The Thamesville Sertoma Club hosted their first annual Antique Show & Sale on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th, 2017 at the Good Shepherd School in Thamesville, Ontario. The weekend show attracted a total attendance of approximately 400 people which was a gratifying amount to the Club due to it being their first ever event of this type.
Chairpersons Deanna and Ernie Nantais, and Ron Vanabaeys did a tremendous job planning and organizing; as well as working closely with Committee Members to make sure all duties and responsibilities were looked after.
Committee Members of the Sertoma Club assisted the dealers with set up and tear down; as well as looked after admission, publicity, and programs. The club also offered lunch and beverages for dealers, members, and patrons during the two day show.
There were ten dealers from across Ontario who brought a large assortment of very fine items, dishes, pottery, jewellery, quilts, books and magazines, paintings and prints, variety of furniture pieces, and various interesting collectibles and treasures. The displays were all set up and organized in a very appealing manner for patrons to view and admire.
Vendors included : A Tick In Tyme Antiques & Collectibles – Holly & Ken Newland of Bloomfield, Blue Ribbon Antiques & Collectibles – Becky Anne & Ben Lawton of Pain Court, Dovetails & Square Nails Antiques – Rod & Bea Slack of Brockville, Geri Wilson Antiques – Geri & Walt Leeson of Cambridge, Grant St. John of West Lorne, Leave It To Ernie – Deanna & Ernie Nantais of Thamesville, Out Behind The Barn Antiques & Collectibles – Doreen Crawford of Ridgetown, Ron & Bonnie Vanrabaeys of Thamesville, Transformed Treasures – Betty McCready of Windsor, and Zenalas Treasures – Michele Topolsek of Cambridge.
The weekend show was a great success due to the commitment of the participating dealers, attendance of patrons, and the outstanding dedication of Chairpersons Deanna and Ernie Nantais, and Ron Vanrabaeys; as well as assistance from the committee members who looked after various duties and tasks. Proceeds raised will assist Sertoma with their many community projects for youth and needy families.
